- What do you need from me to start?
- Your draft text or data, any reference images you already have, and the format it needs to fit. The more I know about your audience and which story the visual needs to tell, the faster we can agree on a strong first draft.
- How long does a project take?
- This is one of the hardest questions for me to answer, it depends strongly on the complexity and size of the project, the medium, and the priority I'm able to give it at the time. That can range from a few days to several weeks, sometimes months.
- Do you work with grant or institutional budgets?
- Yes. I can quote and invoice in such a way that fits research or institutional funding, including work split across milestones if that’s what is needed to suit your grant structure.
- Who owns the artwork?
- You get full usage rights for the agreed purpose. If you'd like to expand those rights later, for example to use the same illustration, or a version I've adapted, for a different purpose, you can always come back and we'll agree on a fitting fee. The rights to the original artwork and any process sketches stay with me unless we agree otherwise.
- Can you work with unpublished research or patient data, and keep it confidential?
- Yes. Confidentiality is standard practice when working with unpublished research or sensitive material, and I'm happy to sign an NDA if you or your institution requires one.
- Do you work with clients outside the Netherlands?
- Yes, I work with clients throughout the Netherlands and internationally, all through remote collaboration: via email, calls and shared files.
